Engineering Consulting, Design and Project Management With the latest software packages available, your office time will be spent working on virtually every type of industrial and utility application available.  Design a substation, analyze field test results, manage a project, perform complex analysis on power systems, create drawings and specifications, write PLC and control protocol.  Specialize or generalize, the amount of variety is yours to determine.  We are an engineering and technology company that strives to be on the cutting edge of electrical power and control systems.  

Hands On Engineering Services Using the latest technology available in state of the art test equipment and simulation systems, you will perform on site evaluation of our client’s power system equipment and controls.  After the design has been completed, you will perform field verification of the design and establish the acceptance of the contractor’s installation and the manufacturer’s equipment.  The fastest way to improve your technical capabilities is through hands on testing in the field.  You will get involved with evaluations of complex relaying control systems, power transformers, substation switching equipment, switchgear and all associated control systems from state of the art new installations to vintage equipment still in service.  We have field work in the USA, Caribbean and other worldwide locations as well as 10 minutes away from your home office.  Stay close to home or travel the world or have a mix of both.  Evaluate on site power quality using advanced data gather systems, perform a tan delta test on a medium voltage power cable, impress a 10 kV power factor test on a generator step up unit, take partial discharge measurements on power distribution switchgear or simulate fault conditions to check and operate complex relaying control systems.

You will also have the opportunity to meet the requirements to become a certified testing professional through the International Electrical Testing Association.  This certification follows the ANSI requirements of ETT 2000 and requires a certain level of experience and training along with passing a certification exam through 4 levels of competency.  Magna Electric President Kerry Heid is the current president of the association.
