Operations are established in Saskatchewan

RUD contract landed with Saskpower

1991

The commissioning of the new Heavy Oil Upgrader Facility takes place in Lloydminster

New office facility opens in Winnipeg, Manitoba

Kerwin Boser joins the company in Saskatoon and as a shareholder

1996

Kerry Heid and Jarret Solberg join the company as shareholders and open the Regina office.

Curtis Brandt joins the company (future shareholder)

The largest project to date is landed, with the commissioning of the new electric compressor substations for TCPL at 6 locations across Canada.

Curtis Brandt moves to Winnipeg to open field service operations

1999

A new multipurpose office facility is built in Saskatoon

2000

First large USA project and first USA office in Alabama

Company name and logo are changed to Magna Electric Corporation

MEC builds a new office facility in Regina.

MEC joins NETA

MEC formally starts an engineering division

Curtis Brandt becomes a shareholder

MEC does project work in Jamaica, Cayman Islands, Korea, and Indonesia

High Desert Power plant is listed as Power Plant of the Year by Platts Power Magazine

MEC moves to a new office facility in Winnipeg.

MEC Detroit is born

MEC is awarded a two year Underground Facilities contract with Sasktel

MEC completes large commissioning projects in partnership with ABB.

Office building expansions in Regina and Saskatoon

Kerry Heid becomes president of NETA

MEC is awarded a three year Underground Facilities contract with Sasktel

Logo change to MEC, company passes the 100 employee mark

Magna formally starts a construction division
